Insurance & Payment Information
Out of Network
Being a private-pay practice allows us to provide more time, privacy, and personalized care. At Edwards Psychiatry, we don’t submit to insurance directly, but after sessions, you can easily download your superbill (itemized receipt) for possible reimbursement.
Payment
You can pay in the way that works best for you, whether that’s Zelle (our preferred option), Venmo, or a credit/debit card, including HSA or FSA cards.
Good Faith Estimate
By law, you’re entitled to an estimate of your care costs before starting services. This applies if you’re uninsured or paying cash. We’ll give you a written estimate on request or before scheduling, especially if costs may exceed $400. Our financial agreement clearly outlines fees, and during your free consult we’ll review options and pricing so you can make informed decisions with full transparency.
The Power of Being in Person
We believe there's something special about connecting face to face, especially when it comes to mental health care. There's nothing quite like sitting together in a space designed for healing and understanding.
Whether you choose to meet us in our cozy Queen Anne office or connect from your favorite spot at home, you'll experience the same dedicated attention and authenticity that makes Edwards Psychiatry special.

Questions You Might Have
You're not alone in wondering about these things. Here are honest answers to questions we hear most often.
What happens after I submit the contact form?
We respond to all inquiries within 48 business hours (usually much sooner). We'll schedule a free 15-minute video call to see if we're a good fit and determine which team member is right for your needs.
Is the consultation really free?
Yes, completely free with no strings attached. This brief conversation helps both of us determine if our practice is the right fit for what you're looking for.
What if I'm not ready to commit to ongoing treatment?
That's perfectly fine. Many people start with just an evaluation or consultation to get clarity about their mental health. There's no pressure to commit to anything beyond what feels right for you.
Why don't you accept insurance?
We don’t work with insurance because it limits the kind of care we can provide. By staying outside those restrictions, we’re able to spend more time with you, fully customize your treatment, and avoid restrictive outside interference.
It also allows us to be fairly compensated for the expertise and care we give, so we can continue showing up for our patients at the highest level.
What if I've had bad experiences with mental health providers before?
Unfortunately, that's common and part of why we started this practice. Many of our clients have had disappointing experiences elsewhere. We take extra care to listen and move at your pace.
Can I request a specific appointment time?
We offer flexible scheduling including some evening hours. During our consultation, we'll find times that work with your schedule.
