Our Neurodiversity-Affirming Services in Seattle

A safe Seattle space where high-masking folks don't have to hide.

Let’s Find Out How Your Brain Works, Together

At Edwards Psychiatry in Seattle, we view neurodiversity as a natural, valid variation in human neurology, not a list of deficits to be pathologized.

In fact, having a neurodivergent brain is often a profound strength, bringing unique advantages like deep creative problem-solving, exceptional hyper-focus, and intuitive, outside-the-box thinking.

Whether you are seeking a formal diagnostic evaluation to unlock these strengths or looking for continuous, specialized clinical support, our team is dedicated to providing warm, trauma-informed, and culturally competent care.

Different Ways We Support You: From Testing to ADHD Coaching

Psychiatric Evaluation

Our intake evaluations deeply explore your current challenges, medical history, and unique patterns to provide a foundation to your care.

ADHD Testing

Wondering if your lifelong struggles with focus, procrastination, and time management are actually undiagnosed ADHD? We offer comprehensive ADHD testing for children, teens, and adults in Seattle.

Autism Testing

If you suspect your chronic social fatigue or sensory sensitivities point toward the autism spectrum (or a dual combination of both Autism and ADHD) our affirming assessment track is designed specifically for high-masking adults and professionals.

Medication Management

If your treatment plan includes supportive prescriptions, our psychiatric team offers careful, personalized medication management. We continuously adjust your regimen to optimize focus and emotional regulation while honoring your systemic neurotype.

ADHD Coaching

A diagnosis tells you how your brain is wired, but coaching gives you the practical toolkit to thrive. Work to build sustainable systems for task organization, emotional regulation, and productivity without masking who you are. ADHD coaching is available for Individuals, Couples, Groups, and Families.

Genetic Testing

If you have tried more mental health medications than you can remember, it can feel incredibly frustrating. The truth is, your body might just have a completely unique way of processing chemicals or a natural genetic sensitivity. Genetic testing gives us better information, so that you can skip the back and forth medication trials.

  • Psychiatric Evaluation:

$550 for up to 60 minutes (in-person or virtual)

All of our services begin with an initial psychiatric evaluation (except ADHD coaching).

The psychiatric evaluation involves a thorough review of your medical and mental health history as well as getting to know each other. Together, we'll formulate a working diagnosis and create an individualized treatment plan which may or may not include medication or further testing.

  • Extended Psychiatric Evaluation:

$750 for up to 90 minutes (in-person or virtual)

For complex cases and presentations (including complex diagnostic profiles, treatment-resistant conditions, or comprehensive medication reviews) we recommend an Extended Psychiatric Evaluation. These sessions typically last up to 90 minutes to ensure a thorough assessment of your history and symptoms.

$275 for the interpretation visit with your provider (in-person or virutal)

This visit helps you understand your unique genetic makeup and get individualized medication recommendations, ending the guessing game of what might work for your body. The test itself is billed separately through Genomind.

For more information on the cost of the test itself, please visit: https://www.genomind.com/resources/cost-and-coverage

  • Missed Appointments:

As many people struggle to find care, it is crucial to give us at least 48  hours' notice if you are unable to make your appointment so your slot can be given to someone else in need.

Frequently Asked Questions

You're not alone in wondering about these things. Here are honest answers to questions we hear most often.

  • Do I need a formal referral for psychiatric testing?

No, you do not need an outside referral to schedule an appointment. We welcome self-referrals from adults and students looking for answers. You can book your initial consultation directly with our Seattle psychiatric team today.

  • What is the difference between ADHD coaching and standard therapy?

Therapy helps you process emotions and past experiences, while neurodivergent coaching is action-oriented. Coaching helps you build practical, real-world systems for time management, organization, and focus without forcing you to mask your natural cognitive traits.

  • How does genetic testing improve medication management?

Genetic testing analyzes a simple cheek swab to map how your liver enzymes process psychiatric prescriptions.

This data provides a personalized roadmap, helping your provider select the right ADHD or anxiety medications while skipping frustrating trial-and-error cycles.

  • Can you provide formal documentation for work or school accommodations?

Yes. If your evaluation confirms an ADHD, Autism, or dual AuDHD diagnosis, your comprehensive clinical report serves as official documentation.

You can use this paperwork to request reasonable adjustments under the ADA for workplace or academic support.

  • Do you offer virtual telehealth options outside of Seattle?

Absolutely. To make neurodiversity-affirming care accessible and low-stress, all of our appointments (including intakes, medication management, coaching, and testing) are available via secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth for anyone living in Washington State.
